Manufacturers’ ICC profiles are critical to achieving the best print results. An ICC Profile is the key to the color door! Color profiles describe the color of the pixels within digital photographic files and, for example, determine exactly how an image will look on your screen. Much like the function of a book cover, an ICC Profile tells us: • The darkest and lightest tones and colors the file can hold • The range of colors (gamut) that the file is capable of showing • The distribution and relationship between each of those tones and colors. Select the correct ICC profile to match the printer, RIP program, ink set and media. Profiles can be found on nglantz.com for download.
