Decorating Eradicable Cooley Brite Eradication of Cooley products is an efficient and economical way of producing high-quality decorated sign faces. When Cooley Magic® eradication solution is applied to Cooley-Brite, Cooley-Brite II, or Cooley-Brite Lite, it creates bold white graphics on solid color backgrounds. This method of sign decoration lets you produce graphics, striping, logos, lettering, and more, that would have otherwise been very costly projects requiring expensive equipment and labor. Not only is eradication easy but it can be combined with other decoration techniques such as pressure- sensitive vinyl, screen printing, spray painting, and heat transfer.
Follow these three easy steps to eradicate:
STEP 1 - PRE-MASK
Place a pre-mask 1 , if desired, over the pre-cut stencil 2 . Apply the mask in the desired position on the Cooley-Brite eradicable product. Make sure there is a good adhesive bond; this is critical to prevent seepage. Smooth out the mask very carefully with a squeegee, removing all air bubbles, especially around the edges of your design. Remove the pre-mask (peeling back at 180º to reduce stress on the graphic). Squeegee the mask again to ensure the edges of your design are firmly adhered to Cooley-Brite.
Mask the area around the design to prevent drips or spills from marring the surface.
STEP 2 - WIPE OFF COLOR
In a well-ventilated area, lightly saturate a paper towel with Cooley Magic 3 . Carefully wipe the exposed area until all color is removed. • Wipe along or towards the graphic, not against the edge of the mask. • Take particular care with small mask areas such as the inside of the letter “A”. Rough handling can displace these small mask areas. • Move as quickly as possible since solvent can cause mask wrinkling. • Do not put ink-stained wipes back into your solvent. Throw away the used towel and keep using new ones. STEP 3 - REMOVE MASK Gently peel the mask off the Cooley product (no drying time needed). You will see a bold white graphic image with clear definition and contrast designed to last for years.
