Curing Ultra Jet DLE-JF is a LED-curable ink, and best curing is achieved at a wavelength of 395 nm.
Ultra Jet DLE-JF is a post-curing UV ink which achieves its final adhesion and resistances after 24 hours.
The curing speed of the ink depends on the number of LED-lamps, the age and power, as well as on the printed ink film thickness. Furthermore, the curing speed is influenced by the colour shade, the printing speed and the substrate. Fade resistance Only pigments of high fade resistance are used for the Ultra Jet DLE-JF range. All basic shades are suited for at least 2-year vertical outdoor exposure, referred to the middle European climate and suitable substrates.
Printheads: • Ricoh Gen 5

Depending on the current ink type and your colour match requirements there are three different options for a changeover: • Switch & Print = full chemical and colour compatibility • Switch & Swap = Flushing is required • Switch & Match = Colour profiling is required for the best colour match Please contact Marabu to confirm the necessary process for your printer Note Our technical advice whether spoken, written, or through test trials corresponds to our current knowledge to inform about our products and their purpose. This is not meant as an assurance for certain properties of the products nor their suitability for each application. Therefore, you are obliged to conduct your own tests with our supplied products to confirm their suitability for the desired process or purpose. The foregoing information is based on our experience and should not be used for specification purposes. All characteristics described in this Technical Data Sheet refer exclusively to the standard products listed under "Range", provided that they are processed in accordance with their intended use and only when used with the recommended auxiliaries. The selection and testing of the ink for specific applications is exclusively your responsibility. Should, however, any liability claims arise, they shall be limited to the value of the goods delivered by us and utilised by you with respect to any and all damages not caused intentionally or by gross negligence.
For the ink changeover, it is recommended to use DI-UR for all ink-carrying components of the ink system. This cleaner has been chemically adjusted to the ink. DI-UR 3 can be used for cleaning print heads and other ink-carrying components, and should be used if any parts need to be soaked for awhile. This cleaner has been chemically adjusted to the ink. Thanks to its higher viscosity, it is especially developed for printers with automatic cleaning units. Special Primer P 2 is used for manual precleaning and pretreatment of PP substrates and metals. In addition, improved adhesion properties can be obtained on powder coatings. Shelf Life The shelf life for an unopened ink container if stored in a dark room at a temperature of 15 - 25°C is: • 9 months for 170 & 910 The ambient temperature may fall below this value only once for max. 2-3 days. Under different conditions, particularly other storage temperatures, the shelf life will be reduced. In such cases, the warranty given by Marabu expires.

Labeling For Ultra Jet DLE-JF and its auxiliaries, there are current material safety data sheets available according to EC regulation 1907/2006, informing in detail about all relevant safety data including labelling according to EC regulation 1272/2008 (CLP regulation). Such health and safety data may also be derived from the respective label. Safety rules for UV printing inks UV-inks contain some substances which may irritate the skin. Therefore, we recommend to take utmost care when working with UV-curable printing inks. Parts of the skin soiled with ink are to be cleaned immediately with water and soap. Please, read the notes on labels and on safety data sheets.

Ultra Jet DLE-JF Improved formulation starting with batch 438
As a responsible manufacturer, we protect both the users of our printing inks and our employees. We therefore select our raw materials carefully and avoid specific risk classifications. As a result, the photoinitiator TPO, once a component of the ink system Ultra Jet DLE-JF, has been replaced.
Background The photo initiator diphenyl(2,4,6-trimethylbenzoyl)- phosphine oxide (TPO, CAS 75980-60-8) is an effective photoinitiator that rapidly dries powder coatings, gravure inks, inkjet inks, and UV-curable acrylic resins. On June 14, 2023, TPO was placed on the candidate list for REACH Annex XIV (SVHC substances) by the ECHA (European Chemicals Agency). In addition, this substance is reclassified as Repro 1B H360 ("May damage fertility or the unborn child") in the 21st ATP ("Adaptation to Technical Progress"/ Adaptation of CLP Regulation), which was published in October 2023 and became effective in January 2024. Improvement The new formulation has enhanced the color gamut of Ultra Jet DLE-JF, bringing it even closer to LUS-170 standards. Utilizing the OEM partner's profile is advisable.
Date of Change-over
The change becomes effective starting with batch 438 (immediately) .
Note
This formula modification affects the following shades: 428 Yellow 434 Light Magenta
438 Magenta 455 Light Cyan
459 Cyan 489 Black
170 White remains unchanged as it did not include TPO in its original formulation.
